Description

A CD transport that bets everything on digital signal purity.

The CD should be dead. Streaming killed it. Then vinyl started its comeback, and something unexpected happened: CDs quietly followed suit. In late December 2025, Shanling reinforced this trend with the CT90 — a roots-up Hi-Fi CD transport, bringing together a premium Philips disc mechanism, a dedicated upsampling engine capable of PCM 768kHz and DSD512, rare dual AES/EBU outputs, and an I²S port with FPGA support and 10 configurable pinout modes, all in a single chassis for under $1,000.
Shanling was founded in 1988 in Shenzhen, China. Its relationship with the CD format dates back to 1994. The company has accumulated licensed technologies, including Sony LDAC, HDCD, Dolby Digital, DTS, and full SACD and CD patent licenses. The legendary 2004 CD-T300 — a three-chassis, 300-unit tube masterpiece remains highly sought after today. This legacy fully influences the CT90. The CT90 positions itself between the half-width ET3 and the top-of-the-range Onix XST20 SACD — and presents compelling arguments for any CD collector.
