Sugden A21 was the first Amplifier to be put into production and was originally designed for a well-known local speaker company.
Almost all manufacturing processes were carried out at the new SUGDEN factory. This included boxes, building circuit boards and final assembly of each item manually. The Cleckheaton plant has seen the development of many new products, including the SUGDEN A48 Integrated Amplifier the SUGDEN C51 Preamplifier and the SUGDEN P51 Power Amplifier. There were also three analog radio tuners and a complete set of audio test equipment.
Today, production follows the same tradition, with each SUGDEN product being produced by hand by a single member of the highly qualified team. The involvement in the entire production process still exists, from the project to the dispatch. They operate in the factory and are assembled by custom engineering, silkscreen and a speaker production facility. The SUGDEN products are British products of truly handmade quality.
